Caribbean Poker Rules and Hints

[ English ]

Web poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your beginning wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The bank pays out cash equal to your original bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
