Caribbean Poker Codes and Tips

Internet poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other players acquire 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or bow out. The call bet’s amount is equal to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the casino. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus a figure equal to the original wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The casino pays out chips even with your ante and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
